As a photographer myself every time I see an aesthetically pleasing image I feel like it’s practically begging me to grab my Canon camera and go out and shoot! Although you can even capture your own beautiful photos to keep as memories for forever right from your own home!

For starters you’re of course going to need a camera, although with the advanced technology and features of Smart Phones these days I’m sure your iPhone could suffice but that’s not what I’m going to be focusing on in this post.

The first camera I started off with and what feels like ages ago now, was with the Canon Rebel T6i. While inexpensive for what I wanted it didn't have all the features I desired but I was only a teenager and just starting out in photography so it worked perfectly for the time being. About a couple years later I felt the need to upgrade as my skills were developing more which is why I chose to go with the Canon Rebel SL2. I still 100% recommend using both these cameras if you are just starting to dabble in photography or just need the basics to take some photos that are still crystal clear and captivating!

The next camera or what I call “my other baby” is my prize possession. The amazing Canon Mark IV which I’ve currently paired with the Canon 24-105 mm lens until I can afford to purchase more lenses for versatility. But because I mainly take portrait shots this lens is the perfect model for me. I bought the body and lens together at the beginning of 2020 and if you’ve seen my photos previous to then you can witness yourself the dramatic change this combination has made for me. This beauty of a camera not only allows you to take crisp, high quality images that works accurately with low lit environments but it also has impeccable resolution. It possesses a touch screen, built in wifi and video resolution of 4K. A fun feature I love about this camera is being able to connect my phone to my camera so that I can see what the shot looks like while I’m in position. I’m not saying you necessarily need to go all out and purchase this top of the line camera right away but I can honestly say this duo has changed my photography in so many tremendous ways.

In order to capture your images at a distance, you’re going to need a tripod. I recommend this 60 inch tripod. It pairs with most cameras, even your phone if you choose to purchase a separate adapter. Cheap yet efficient, this light tripod even comes with its own travel bag, making it easy to transport anywhere! Being able to swivel, it allows you to take your own pictures as landscape or portrait style! If you’d like you can also get a shutter release remote that easily connects to your camera so you can click it whenever you want to take a photo! This saves you a lot lot of running back and forth up to your camera to push the button. I took these shots of myself below with the Tripod as well as every other picture in this blog post!

Gymshark is the real MVP for pulling through and sending me activewear that I can rock while gyming and chilling at home munching leftover donuts from my lovely baby shower.
